Celine gave a short interview for the Swiss magazine L’Hebo, on which she is talking about her involvement in the fight against world hunger, food safety and access to drinking water. Below scans and translate:

What action in favor of access to drinking water does it take a special significance to you?
“I think everything can be done in the name of charity is important, especially when it comes to basic human needs like food or water. Survival of humans depends on it explains the importance of this battle. ”

Your many travels around the world have they made more aware of the problems of hunger and access to drinking water?

“As a celebrity, I think I have a responsibility to deal with critical situations like these. If I speak openly and that the media relay my words, so I think I can make an impact. Rene Angelil, Celine Dion’s husband, says the singer and Las Vegas entertainer is getting better.

Dion has been under doctor’s orders to rest her voice after she was diagnosed a few weeks ago with weakness in her right vocal cord, “secondary to a viral illness,” according to a statement on the singer’s website a few weeks ago.

According to a post this morning, Angelil offered an update today to Hello! Canada magazine:

Celine is doing better. She’s obviously not singing, but her speaking voice is getting back to normal. We’re flying to Los Angeles on Monday for a follow-up visit with Dr. Berke at the UCLA Medical Clinic. When Dr. Berke examined her two weeks ago, he said that he expects her to fully recover within 6-8 weeks which would mean between the middle and end of April. So far, everything is going according to plan.

Celine, her husband René, along with other business families are now proud co-owners of Schwartz’s Deli, an iconic Montreal restaurant famous for its smoked meat sandwiches and generations-old decor. René is thrilled to be a part of this unique world-famous restaurant, founded in 1928. He has many memories of going to Schwartz’s with Celine, friends and family throughout the years. Congratulations Celine and René!
