Céline Dion admits it’s hard to find time to sleep and shower these days as she and husband René Angelil care for their two-month-old fraternal twin boys, Eddy and Nelson.
The superstar singer, who also has a 9-year-old son, René-Charles, opens up about motherhood in a new issue of Hello! Canada magazine set to hit newsstands Thursday.
“I don’t know how women do it,” she tells Hello! Canada editor-in-chief Alison Eastwood in an interview at the family’s expansive, “tropical-themed” home on Jupiter Island, Fla.
“Every day René asks, ‘Did you sleep well?’ I’m like, ‘You must be kidding! There is no sleep!’ ”
Dion and her twins are featured in a 20-page pictorial spread in the magazine.
They also grace the cover, wearing white pyjamas on a bed that is decked out in white linens. Dion, her hair tied back, is smiling at the camera as one of the twins rests in her arms and the other sleeps on the bed beside her.
Pyjamas are a staple wardrobe these days, Dion tells Eastwood. “I nurse both babies at the same time. . . . I’m in my pyjamas until lunchtime and there’s no time to shower.”
The multiple Grammy Award winner also says the twins are developing personalities.
“Nelson is Angelil, Eddy is Dion,” she tells the magazine.
Dion, who kicks off her next Las Vegas show on March 15, gave birth to the twins Oct. 23.
Nelson is named after South African leader Nelson Mandela and Eddy is for French songwriter Eddy Marnay.

When Céline Dion gave birth to twin boys on Saturday, the singer and her husband, René Angelil, were overcome with joy – and tears.
“When Saturday at 11:11, they showed us the first baby that was crying, we were crying,” Angelil told Canadian entertainment show etalk on Monday.
Dion, 42, has been open about her fertility struggles and conceived the twins on her sixth in vitro attempt over the course of about a year.
“It was a very emotional moment, and even though we didn’t speak to each other, we were both thinking about the time it took,” said Angelil. “We are very lucky, very privileged and very fortunate to have these boys.”
The birth wasn’t just a dream come true for the couple, but also for their 9-year-old son, René-Charles.
“He was very, very happy that it was boys,” Angelil said on Monday. “I remember a few months ago when mom told him the day we were going to know if it was a boy or a girl or two boys or two girls … his reaction pointing to his mom’s belly he said, ‘I hope there’s not too many girls in there.’ ”
The fraternal twins, whose names have not been released, have dark hair and distinctly different looks. According to Angelil, René-Charles observed, “One looks like dad, and the other one looks like mom.”
Although Dion relishes her role as mom, she is also looking forward to her next big project: returning to the Las Vegas stage.
“We know she’s going to start rehearsing Jan. 17,” says her husband. “It gives her three months to recoup and she thinks she can do it.”

Celine Dion‘s husband, René Angélil has confirmed that contrary to recent reports, Celine has not yet scheduled their twins’ birth. Other reports have surfaced claiming that Celine has been making outrageous demands at one Florida hospital in preparation for the arrival. René, who is 68, stated:
“They want Celine’s pregnancy to go as long as possible, at least until the first week of November, she would never intentionally endanger her unborn children by scheduling a birth early like this.”
“It’s all false, Celine and her doctors are hopeful that she can continue her pregnancy as long as possible, and hope to get her to at least 37 weeks gestation to ensure the healthiest outcome for her children.”
Amongst the reports, one source said that Celine was handpicking the staff who would be available for the birth, and also wanted a private room available for her security team.
