THE promoters of the Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival are this week expected to announce that multi-award-winning Canadian superstar Celine Dion has been signed for next year’s staging of the annual event.

The announcement will no doubt generate excitement among Jamaicans as the singer is extremely popular here where her single, Because You Love Me is a big hit.

Dion became an international star after she recorded the title track for the animated Disney hit movie Beauty and the Beast.

The song went to number one and won her an Academy and a Grammy Award.

Over the years, she has compiled an impressive discography consisting of 23 studio albums, six live albums and 17 compilation sets.

Here’s the translation of the 7 Jours magazine interview after the twins 1st birthday party (thanks to Celine Dion Forum)

———————————————————————————————————————–

A whole party for Eddy and Nelson’s birthday!

Nelson and Eddy, Celine Dion and Rene Angelil’s twins, turned one year old last Sunday October 23rd. To celebrate this first birthday, the singing star and her husband invited 70 guests to their residence in Jupiter Island for an intimate party, filled with children’s laughs and chocolate cakes! I had the chance to talk with the happy parents, who talk very fondly of this memorable celebration.

Celine, the first birthday of your twins, it’s a very special event. How would you describe this day?

It was a celebration of life. We couldn’t have just done nothing. We thought about going to Disney, or bringing the family here, or doing a very intimate party, just the 5 of us. Finally, we decided to invite our families and say thank you to the people that helped us give birth to Eddy and Nelson. It was the little ones’ birthday, but most of all was a celebration of life. It was wonderful. I had made RC’s cake when he turned one, so I wasn’t going to pass on these two, evidentely! (laughs) I told the chef: “You can do the most beautiful cake in the world for the guests. But the 2 cakes for the kids, it’s me who will do them”.
