Céline Dion’s dream to expand her family has come true.

The singer, 42, is pregnant with twins after undergoing her sixth in-vitro fertilization attempt and turning to acupuncture to improve her chances of a pregnancy, her rep Kim Jakwerth confirms.

Dion, mom to 9-year-old son René-Charles, is 14 weeks along. She will find out the gender of the twins next month.

“We’re ecstatic,” her husband/manager René Angelil tells PEOPLE. “Celine is just hoping for a healthy pregnancy. She was hoping for one baby and the news that we are having two is a double blessing.” !”

“I feel like I am pregnant for more than a year! I never gave up, but I have to admit that it was hard physically and emotionally.”

“There was so much emotions after so many efforts! I am 42, it was my sixth try. I was feeling like I was losing it, so I had hard time realising that I was pregnant!”

“I stayed in New York this time, for a month and a half, being watched carefully by my doctors, without moving too much. René Charles came to see me.”

“My doctors have to reassure me all the time! I want to see those babies. I have echographies every week, I hear their heartbeats. It is very stressful, but I relax. I watch my little belly. I don’t do anything, and let me tell you, if I have to be on bedrest, I’ll be ’til november! There’s nothing stronger than carying life. It’s just incredible.”

“René-Charles is wonderful. He’s just finished his year in school, with brio. I am so proud of him. He lived all this remaining silent, but in the meantime, he gave me a strong emotional support.”
